Legalization and regulation of gambling/online gambling in Italy
Fortunately, gambling is legal in Italy! The country supports gambling at the state level. The basic law regulating this activity in Italy was adopted in 2010. Today, almost all entertainment is allowed here:
- card games
- sports betting and sweepstakes
- slots and other games controlled by a random number generator
- lotteries
- bingo
- board games
Gambling control in the country is carried out by the Ministry of the Interior and the Autonomous Administration of State Monopolies.
Gambling establishments are managed by private companies or municipal organizations. There is no general tax on gambling business, each region has its own.
