Great news for players from all over the world! Google has allowed gambling apps to be hosted on Google Play in more countries. From March 1, 2021, gambling applications in the Google Play store will be open for 15 countries, including the United States.
The update includes real money slots, lotteries, and sports betting. This is great news for game software providers as it will allow them to advertise on the Play Store.
Google announcement of changes
Online gambling operators in the UK, France, Ireland, and Brazil gained access to the Play Store just a few years ago. Since March this year, Google has allowed carriers from 15 more countries to publish their apps using Google Play. The list of countries includes Germany, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and the United States.
Providers will benefit from distributing their Android apps through Google. Right now, we are seeing the US online sports betting and gambling industry skyrocketing!
Solution of problems
Previously, users could download Android applications for online gambling directly from the operator’s website. However, that also meant they had to go through a few cumbersome steps: manually updating apps and also bypassing their phone’s security settings. It was difficult for carriers to advertise apps and reach the relevant demographic.
Google has solved these problems! Finally, operators will be able to effectively reach a large audience.
The tech giant did not elaborate on whether there are any rules regarding app design and user interface. All software vendors are encouraged to build their applications with the latest design trends and of course, include as many built-in functionalities as possible. This will enable the products to meet the needs of tomorrow and deliver maximum customer satisfaction.
