Yo ho ho! A pirate ship is approaching you. Jump onto the deck and head out into the open ocean towards adventures and some big wins.
You know, Pirates of the Mediterranean was always ready for a sequel as it boasted cool bonus features but its design/graphics was poor. Now watch its sequel, offering visual delight! Ready to learn more about it? Then fasten your seat belts as we dive into the world of Pirates of the Mediterranean Remastered!
All this pirate madness takes place on the deck of a huge ship that set off on a long voyage along with a team of experienced pirates. The symbols appear on the playing field with a standard grid of 5 reels and 3 rows. Winning combinations are made on 10 paylines.
Here, as in the original game, in addition to the standard Wilds, special ones appear: Walking Wilds or Golden Parrots. When Golden Parrots land during the base game, respins are activated and the Wild moves 1 position to the left. The feature continues and ends only when all Walking Wilds leave the reels.
Here’s a short guide on how to play this game:
A piece of cake. Play and Win!
The sequel is very similar to its older brother, especially under the hood. Volatility is still on the high side of the spectrum. This means that you have to deal with an unbalanced game that is ready to give you an nasty streak of dead spins at any moment. But do not rush to give up the game, as any winning combination here will lead to really high payouts. As for the RTP, it stands at 96.02%, which is above the industry average.
Oh, this hackneyed pirate theme! We, as experienced players and reviewers, are already tired of it, but we still admit that Pirates of the Mediterranean Remastered looks good. The grid is located against the background of the wooden deck of the ship, and in the background you can see the endless ocean and a lone ship sailing with the current. Symbols appear on the playing field in the form of pirates and creatively stylized royals.
We have described the entire design in several sentences. Nothing to add due to the small originality provided. The sequel looks good anyway, and the overall vibe feels much more charming than the original. We also noticed that the gameplay pace became smoother and less tedious.
Changes for the better also affected the symbols. They seem very familiar but look better. The pay table contains the classic A-9 royals, followed by the premium symbols: guns, pirates, captains and sailors. The parrot deserves a special mention because it is a Wild symbol that does its job (replaces the standard symbols) and pays up to 10,000x the stake.
See Golden Wild in the base game? Congratulations! You will get a respins feature with a Wild who moves 1 position to the left. We were lucky for this feature so you can see the Walking Wilds in the screenshot above. If at least 1 Wild is still present on the playing field, the feature continues. It only stops when all Walking Wilds leave the screen.
The treasure chest acts like a scatter here. If you get 2 anywhere, you get an instant cash prize! When 3 of them land, the free spins feature is launched. After that, you will be given 1 spin on the compass, which can randomly accumulate from 10 to 18 free spins at random. You will also get a delicious x4 multiplier, and if Wild hits a winning combo it will double to 8x!
There is also a classic feature that allows you to increase your winnings after each winning spin. This is a classic staircase game. The chance of doubling is 50/50. You can bet either full win or half.
It is impossible to compete for the jackpot here, but it is quite possible to win up to 10,000 times the stake, which is decent even for a game with maximum risk. You can unleash this potential in just 1 spin by landing 5 Wild Symbols (Parrot). You will do it much faster if you start the Respins feature with Walking Wilds.
It’s always nice to see companies breathe new life into their old games. Spearhead Studios winked at fans of the original game, leaving the gameplay unchanged for this sequel, but adding improved design/graphics. The game has a well-balanced mathematical model, which is a huge advantage, but again, it is identical to its predecessor.
While writing the review, we had nothing to complain about, although there was nothing to say. This is the same pirate-themed slot, with the same gameplay but with an improved design. Did you like Pirates Of The Mediterranean or just like slots with cool gameplay/design? Then this sequel will suit you.
